Eye Care for Animals is hiring an experienced, Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our INCREDIBLE team!

The specialists at Eye Care for Animals are committed to delivering top-notch veterinary ophthalmology services specifically tailored for the residents of Gilbert, Arizona. Our board-certified and associate doctors prioritize the utmost level of care, education, and understanding to our clients, their beloved pets, and the referring veterinarians within the Gilbert community.

As a Veterinary Technician Assistant, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • 1+ year of professional animal handling experience (veterinary, shelter, kennel, or grooming setting is a strong plus).
  • OR a current student/graduate of a veterinary assistant program.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a compassionate, team-oriented attitude.
  • Willingness to learn medical procedures and software systems.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Support:
    Assist veterinarians and technicians in exam rooms by taking patient histories, preparing rooms, and providing compassionate, safe animal restraint.
  • Facility & Surgical Maintenance:
    Ensure a clean, sanitary, and organized environment. Duties include cleaning and stocking exam rooms, kennels, and the surgical suite, as well as handling and packing sterilized surgical instruments.
  • Client Care & Communication:
    Provide exceptional client service by reviewing discharge instructions, explaining medications, and answering routine questions.
  • Administrative Duties:
    Support front office operations as needed, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing check‑ins/outs, and managing medication refills.
