Job Summary
The Quality Control Technician ensures that sterilization operations meet the quality system requirements, releases products for shipping after reviewing documentation, and assists the core team with quality issues. The role also provides training, audits compliance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities- Review sterilization documentation and release products to the next stage of shipping.
- Follow up on sterilization process issues, investigate findings, and suggest corrective actions.
- Initiate and respond to correction and preventive action reports, documenting quality system failures and improvement activities.
- Conduct routine product and process audits to assure compliance with the quality system.
- Perform complete inspections of products according to applicable specifications.
- Report issues to the Supervisor Sterilization Assurance.
- Update internal documentation in SAP and maintain all required inspection documentation.
- Trend quality metrics, perform defect trend analysis, and take action to address problems.
- Ensure and verify that sterilization associates are trained in inspection techniques and procedural work instructions.
- Attend training sessions and support site initiatives, including internal or external audits as part of the audit team.
- Other duties as assigned, including supporting site initiatives, audits, and change control.
- High School diploma or GED with 2 years of previous quality experience.
- Additional certificates and/or a bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, business, or a closely related field desirable.
- Experience with Quality SAP (Everest).
- Computer skills in Excel and Word.
- High degree of discipline, attention to detail, and proven organizational skills.
- Good understanding of QSRs, GLPs, ISO, FDA Guidelines, and other regulatory requirements.
- Strong verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal skills; capacity to listen and understand stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, providing operational support and addressing plant associate queries.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving ability, risk management, and escalation within an established governance framework, with a strong sense of urgency.
- Travel may be required for training, development, or business needs.
