Role Description

The Quality Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Gilbert, AZ, responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the company’s quality management systems and practices. This role monitors product quality throughout the manufacturing process, develops and maintains quality procedures, and ensures compliance with relevant industry standards and customer requirements. Day-to-day activities include leading inspections and audits, analyzing quality data, identifying root causes of defects, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

The Quality Manager collaborates closely with production, engineering, and customer service teams to resolve quality issues, support new product introductions, and drive process improvements. This role also involves training team members on quality standards, maintaining documentation, and communicating quality performance to leadership and customers.

Position Summary
  • Plan, develop and implement techniques, processes and procedures for controlling and ensuring superior levels of quality for all products supplied by the organization.
  • Plan, develop and implement techniques, policies and procedures for maintaining regulatory compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations.
  • Manage priorities and performance of the Quality function to ensure the company meets its goals.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality, safety and regulatory issues.
  • Participate in and/or direct activities associated with audits, including internal, customer, supplier, ISO 9001, AS9100, and state and federal agencies.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality & regulatory management strategies and plans, including resources, systems, procedures and projects to support, contribute to, and integrate within the organization’s annual budget and long-term strategy.
  • Monitor performance according to established quality and safety metrics and take necessary action to communicate, advise, and assist according to performance levels.
  • Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality and regulatory issues across all departments.
  • Lead the implementation and compliance with our quality management systems including customer returns, root cause investigations, corrective actions, customer and internal audits, ISO compliance, and quality metric performance.
  • Lead a small staff in the Quality department (inspectors, techs, QE) according to company standards (i.e. hiring, employee development, training, performance evaluations, etc.).
  • Assist other parts of the organization in formulating and implementing projects and initiatives to improve and manage quality.
  • Function as the main focal for a Continuous Improvement program.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to not only your department, but others across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience with quality management systems, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., ISO standards, AS9100, Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis, develop corrective and preventive actions, and use data-driven problem-solving tools.
  • Proficiency in documentation, quality reporting, and maintaining compliance-related records and procedures.
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and interacting with customers on quality issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in aerospace, contract manufacturing or machining/manufacturing is highly beneficial.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including training and mentoring team members and driving a culture of quality and safety.
