Position Summary

As a Produce Department Lead you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates to deliver more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in produce and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the club meets the members' expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the team in the produce and floral area to deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of the club.
  • Communicate the goals of the department, execute company programs, adhere to policies, and advocate for members, associates, and the company.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of floor and backroom operations ensuring the produce area meets company standards for quality, inventory, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and compliance.
  • Manage seasonality, inventory, and prioritization of time among areas.
  • Collaborate with associates to provide resources, knowledge, and training.
  • Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.
  • Utilize handheld technology for real‑time business decisions related to production, training, and product quality.
  • Drive business results, ensuring commitment to operational excellence and a neat, clean, and safe work area.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels, accurate audit and compliance standards, and display merchandise according to the plan.
  • Teach and train the team for high quality service, encourage career growth, and source new talent.
  • Implement processes and practices to meet business needs, collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners, and monitor progress.
  • Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards using the Open Door Policy.
  • Lead and participate in teams, providing advice, feedback, and support to meet timelines and quality.
  • Respect individuality, embrace differences, and foster a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected.
  • Act with integrity, uphold Walmart values, and hold yourself and others accountable.
  • Serve customers and members, putting the customer first and making decisions based on reliable information.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 months experience working in a fresh production department or supervising a team.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Will successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments within the prescribed time period if hired.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supervising a team.
  • Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).
