Position SummaryOur members choose Sam’s Club for fresh food because of our hardworking, customer‑focused fresh food associates. As a member of the meat team, you will cut meat, decide on quality, packaging and display, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
What you’ll do- Provide meat products to members by packaging and cutting boneless meats, operating equipment (e.g., grinders), repairing and sanitizing equipment, and ensuring merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored.
- Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying their needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues, and promoting company products and services.
- Maintain merchandise presentation by stocking, setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays, removing damaged goods, signing and pricing merchandise appropriately, and securing fragile and high‑shrink items.
- Maintain the sales floor in the meat area in accordance with company policies by handling claims and returns, zoning the area, arranging merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages.
- Maintain safety of the facility by following all safety standards, procedures and guidelines, conducting safety sweeps, following forklift‑spotting procedures, handling hazardous materials, mandating compliance with the Company Steel Standard, and reporting unsafe situations.
- Follow company policies for preparing, handling, packaging, labeling, and storing food, operating and sanitizing food‑related equipment, stocking and displaying food products, and cleaning the fresh department.
- Clean the meat area (windows, mirrors, display cases, and coolers) following company procedures and using approved chemicals, supplies, tools, and equipment.
The hourly wage range for this position is $18.00 to $26.00*.
* The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
Additional compensation may include premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
Minimum Qualifications- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must complete all required trainings and assessments within the prescribed time period if offered a position.
