Navajo Preference Employment Act

OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY
This electrician position is for the Echo Cliffs Health Center. The Electrician installs, maintains, and repairs the electrical infrastructure of a healthcare facility. Ensures uninterrupted power, lighting, and equipment operations to support patient care. This electrical position troubleshoots electrical faults, performs preventive maintenance, oversight of critical emergency electrical systems and operations and adheres to safety regulations.
Qualifications NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS Education- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of accepted Electrical Apprenticeship Program
- Minimum six (6) years of verifiable commercial electrical work experience
- Basic computer skills and literacy for communication, records, forms, and ordering
Skills and Abilities
- A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers. All employment references must address and indicate success in each one of the following areas:

- Possession of high ethical standards and no history of complaints
- Reliable and dependable; reports to work as scheduled without excessive absences.
- Must have the ability to read, write, understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

- Computer basic skills
- Knowledge of single‑phase and three‑phase electrical systems, low‑voltage wiring and emergency power distribution.

- Must have a current valid driver’s license without restrictions and maintained throughout employment.
- Completion of and above‑satisfactory scores on all job interviews, demonstrating to the satisfaction of the interviewees and TCRHCC that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job.
- Successful completion of and positive results from all background and reference checks, including positive employment references from authorized representatives of past and current employers demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC a record of satisfactory performance and that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job.
- Successful completion of fingerprint clearance requirements, physical examinations, and other screenings indicating that the applicant is qualified to be employed by TCRHCC and demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job.
- Submission of all required employment‑related documents, applications, resumes, references, and other required information free of false, misleading or incomplete information, as determined by TCRHCC.
- AA Degree General Engineering, or Electrical Technician, Building Trades, and/or
- AAS in Construction Technology, Certificate Program in Building Trades
- Previous Hospital and Hospital Plant electrical maintenance work experience
- Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) literacy
- OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Sbpt S
- Electrical Safety Training certificate

- Ability to speak Navajo, Hopi or San Juan Southern Paiute
