What will your job look like?

We are looking for a Fleet Maintenance Technician Class A to help maintain a fleet of 112 vehicles in our Gilbert, AZ location. This position consists of service, diagnosing, repair, and general maintenance of MTM Transit service vehicles. Our Fleet Maintenance staff are more than mechanics. They are guardians of safety, efficiency, and reliability. Responsibilities
  • Maintain, electrically service, diagnose, and repair MTM Transit service vehicles.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs of MTM Transit facilities and grounds.
  • Work on automotive vehicles, light duty trucks, heavy‑duty transit bus powertrains, undercarriage/chassis, electronic and electrical equipment, air conditioning and heating systems, and vehicle accessories and equipment drivability and diagnosis.
  • Ensure accuracy when completing electronic work orders.
  • Assist in maintaining shop and facility, including servicing vehicle lifts, pumps, and related equipment as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
What you'll need
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • 21 years or older.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license for the past 3 years.
  • Valid authorization to work in the State of Arizona and the United States.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of auto/truck experience or automotive coursework from an automotive institute.
  • Pass DOT physical and pre‑employment drug screening.
  • Pass criminal background check investigation & motor vehicle record check.
  • No DUIs, DWIs, or reckless driving in the past 5 years.
  • No more than 1 moving violation during each of the last 3 years.
  • In the event that your license has been previously revoked, at least 3 full subsequent years post‑reinstatement with no violations.
Skills
  • Must possess the AC609 certification or ability to obtain.
  • Experience using hand and power tools, machinery, and sophisticated test and diagnostic equipment related to automotive repair.
  • Must possess proper hand tools or be willing to obtain; MTM will supply diagnostic, heavy and specialty equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational skills with attention to timeliness and details.
  • Proficient in computer skills to ensure electronic repair work orders are completed correctly.
  • Demonstrate a safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures.
  • Ability to attend safety and vehicle repair courses as required.
  • Willing to adhere to company policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Regular attendance is required.

MTM Transit ASE Certification Program
  • Master ASE certification in an approved series earns an annual bonus of $2,500. For each year the employee retains their Master ASE in an approved series, they receive $2,500.
  • Each initial passing of an ASE test yields a one‑time bonus of $250.00.
  • MTM will pay for each test for the technicians up to 2 times per test. If a technician fails their test more than twice, MTM may require the technician to pay for additional testing, after which MTM will reimburse upon passing.
