Position

Fleet Maintenance Technician Class A – Gilbert, AZ

Location & Schedule

436 S Hamilton Ct, Gilbert, AZ 85233. All available schedules include weekend days.

What you’ll do
  • Responsible for maintenance, electrical service, diagnosing, and repair of MTM Transit service vehicles
  • Responsible for general maintenance and repairs of MTM Transit facilities and grounds
  • Areas of repair to include automotive vehicle, light duty truck, heavy duty transit bus powertrains, undercarriage/chassis, electronic and electrical equipment, air conditioning and heating systems, vehicle accessories and equipment, drivability and diagnosis
  • Ensure accuracy when completing electronic work orders
  • Assist in maintaining shop and facility, including servicing vehicle lifts, pumps, and other equipment as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required
What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Minimum of 4+ years of auto/truck experience or automotive courses from an institute
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License for the past 3 years
  • Valid authorization to work in the State of Arizona and United States
  • Must pass DOT physical and pre‑employment drug screening
  • Must pass criminal background check investigation & Motor Vehicle Record check (no DUI, DWI or reckless driving in the past 5 years; no more than 1 moving violation in each of the last 3 years; if license was revoked, at least 3 full subsequent years post‑reinstatement with no violations)
  • Must possess AC609 Certification or ability to obtain it
  • Experience using hand and power tools, machinery, sophisticated test and diagnostic equipment related to automotive repair
  • Willing to obtain proper hand tools if not already owned (diagnostic, heavy and specialty equipment will be supplied)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills with attention to timeliness and details
  • Proficient computer skills to ensure electronic repair work orders are completed correctly
  • Visible demonstration of safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures
  • Willingness to attend safety and vehicle repair courses as may be required
  • Willing to adhere to company policies, procedures and regulations
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Regular attendance required
  • ASE certifications preferred for level A mechanic; additional ASE certifications are a plus
