Join our team as a Fiber Infrastructure Specialist (Enterprise Telecommunications Specialist) and take a leading role in building the physical network that keeps our city connected. From overseeing the construction and expansion of citywide fiber optic infrastructure to performing hands‑on fiber splicing, testing, and structured cabling work, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining the communications backbone that supports public safety, municipal operations, smart city technologies, and enterprise services.
You’ll work closely with OSP fiber contractors, utility partners, and internal stakeholders to deliver fiber construction projects while also supporting MDF and IDF environments, fiber distribution systems, and structured cabling installations. This is a hands‑on position for someone who thrives both in the field and on project sites, understands BICSI standards and telecommunications infrastructure best practices, and takes pride in delivering high‑quality work that directly impacts the community.

Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid‑point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid‑point for this position is $99,153.60/annually.
Education and Experience- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science or a related field.
- Five years’ experience in systems analysis or design, testing and implementation of computer‑based information systems, and project management experience working on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
- An equivalent combination of education and job‑related experience may substitute for the educational requirements on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver’s license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out‑of‑state driver’s licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during their active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
