Traffic Signal Specialist I, II, or III
Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the Traffic Signal Specialist I, II, or III position. The level at which someone is hired depends on experience, skill set, and certifications. The pay range listed is the minimum of the Level I position and the maximum of the Level III position. The pay range for each level is listed below the job requirements.

The Traffic Signal Specialist reports to the ITS Operations Supervisor. The primary job duties of this position include:
- Installation, preventative maintenance, operations, and repair of electrical and electronic traffic signal control devices and various (ITS) Intelligent Transportation System components.
- Installation, preventative maintenance, operations, and repair of (PTZ) Pan Tilt Zoom cameras, (ARID) Anonymous Re-Identification, and (AGPS) Advisor Guide Accessible Pedestrian Station associated with the Town's traffic signal system.
- Interpret electrical plans, code requirements, electronic schematics, and diagrams for the installation and maintenance of the Town's traffic signal system.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate records regarding all installation, maintenance, and repair of the Town's traffic signal system.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with private contractors.
- Plan and schedule personnel, equipment, and materials as needed for the traffic signal system work projects.
This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation. This position may require a pre-employment physical and/or drug screen. This position requires working at heights up to 25 feet.

Candidates for a Level I Traffic Signal Specialist must possess the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of experience in electrical systems, traffic signals, traffic safety, installation/maintenance, or equipment operation.
- 24/7 Stand-by, On-Call rotation is mandatory.
- IMSA
- International Municipal Signals Association Signal I Certification within 18 months of hire. - Arizona Driver's License.
- The pay range for a Traffic Signal Specialist I is $27.23 - $39.48.
Candidates for a Level II Traffic Signal Specialist must possess the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED, Associate's Degree in Electronics, Engineering, Technology, or similar field preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical systems, traffic signals, traffic safety, installation/maintenance, or equipment operation.
- 24/7 Stand-by, On-Call rotation is mandatory.
- IMSA
- International Municipal Signals Association Work Zone I & Signal Tech I Certifications at the time of hire, Work Zone Safety certification from an accredited agency, and IMSA Traffic Signal I certification. - Arizona Driver's License.
- The pay range for a Traffic Signal Specialist II is $29.43 - $44.15.
Candidates for a Level III Traffic Signal Specialist must possess the following requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Electronics, Engineering, Technology, or similar field preferred but not required.
- 5-7 years of experience in electrical systems, traffic safety installation/maintenance, or equipment operation.
- 24/7 Stand-by, On-Call rotation is mandatory.
- IMSA
- International Municipal Signals Association Work Zone I & Signal Tech II and Traffic Signal Inspector Certifications at the time of hire, Work Zone Safety certification from an accredited agency, and IMSA Traffic Signal II certification. - Arizona Driver's License.
- The pay range for a Traffic Signal Specialist III is $32.91 - $49.37.
These positions have been designated as Heavy work positions that spend a majority of their workday in an office and outdoor environment. The pay range $27.23 to $49.37 is the minimum of the Level I Traffic Signal Specialist and the maximum of the Level III Traffic Signal Specialist.
