- Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
- Place school crosswalk signs thirty minutes prior to school opening and remove signs not later than thirty minutes after school ends.
- Direct actions of children and traffic at designated school access street crossings to ensure student safety as students are going to or leaving school.
- May escort children across street at school crosswalks.
- Monitor student use of lined crosswalks.
- Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals and report infractions to the school principal.
- Use hand‑held stop sign in association with work assignment.
- Safeguard and maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Education preferred.
- Must have excellent communication skills and ability to build positive rapport with students and parents.
- Good physical condition with an emphasis on sight and hearing; exposure to the elements during assignment.
- First Aid certification preferred.
- Ability to pass background and reference checking as stipulated by District standards.
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Card.

- Constantly work in outdoor weather conditions with environmental noise.
- Constantly move on streets and sidewalks.
- Frequently use stop sign, hold and extend arm to alert traffic of students in crosswalk.
- Frequently communicate with parents, students, and staff to maintain safety.
- Raise and lower objects up to 25 lbs.
- Maintain clarity of vision at close and long range of 20 feet or more while observing an area that can be seen up and down or to the right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
Part‑Time Position – 10 months Monday – Friday.
SALARY CLASSIFICATIONAppropriate salary placement on the Classified Hourly Salary Schedule.
EVALUATIONPerformance of this job will be evaluated by Site Administrator and according to District Policy.
