Yard Hostler; Weekdays

Job Overview

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Yard Hostler is responsible for ensuring that trailers are moved within the yard in a safe and efficient manner using a Terminal Tractor. The Yard Hostler also manages yard operations, maintains good housekeeping, and enforces yard rules and standards.

• Move and position trailers within the yard using a Terminal Tractor.
• Manage yard operations and maintain good housekeeping.
• Enforce yard rules and standards.
• Document issues and communicate them to the Operations Supervisor.

• Experience, Knowledge, & Education (if applicable) Required
• Minimum of one year of Yard Hostler operation experience (preferred).
• Prior exposure to CPG and/or Food & Beverage industries (preferred).
• Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of computer systems and/or warehouse management systems.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills beneficial.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb steps or ladders.
• Occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, and weather conditions.
• Certification to safely operate a Terminal Tractor and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and/or other equipment within the facility.
• Ability to maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
• At least 18 years old.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Active driver's license and clean driving record.

Base pay: $21.00 per hour with a 5% target quarterly bonus. Benefits eligible.

Travel required:

0–10%. Position is permanent.

• Shift Rotation– Weekday Days:
  Week 1:
  Monday – Thursday 5 am – 5 pm;
  Week 2:
  Monday – Wednesday 5 am – 5 pm.
