Warehouse Associate – Part Time Seasonal

First shift hours: 7am–11am. Hourly rate $17.00.

Support the creation and delivery of Scholastic Book Fairs by building and maintaining warehouse operations. Work during peak seasons of the school year, typically Monday‑Friday, with off periods during summer and winter school leave.

• Perform core warehouse functions: fair production, returns, order fulfillment, scanning, replenishment, corrugate assembly, truck unload, pulling restocks, pricing, repacking, and put‑away.
• Meet minimum production, accuracy, and quality standards for all tasks.
• Follow safety policies, processes, and procedures and keep work area neat and organized.
• Operate motorized pallet jacks upon successful completion of the SBF powered equipment program.
• Participate in temporary projects as part of team development.
• Maintain reliable attendance in accordance with SBF policy.
• Plan and prioritize work to manage time effectively and accomplish assigned tasks.
• Record details of all work tasks performed accurately.
• Use tools and technology appropriately to complete work functions.
• Maintain professional and positive relationships with coworkers and customers.

• High school diploma or GED certificate preferred.
• Basic product scanner proficiency with minimal errors.
• Strong team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills and ability to read English documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to demonstrate reliability, dependability, and punctuality.

Must be able to lift boxes up to 50lbs occasionally, lift 30lbs to a height of 70inches occasionally, push wheeled cases over 300lbs with an initial force of up to 50lbs and sustained force of up to 30lbs. Must stand, reach, squat, bend, kneel, walk, stoop, crouch, crawl, and occasionally sit. Must tolerate work in a non‑air‑conditioned environment. Must accurately follow specific instructions for detailed assembly processes.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
