We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Land Surveyor to support land surveying operations. The ideal candidate will assist in collecting, processing, and analyzing field data for boundary, topographic, construction, and engineering surveys. This role requires a strong understanding of surveying principles, proficiency with survey instruments and software, and the ability to work effectively in both field and office environments.
This role requires approximately 80% fieldwork, with the remaining 40% involving overnight travel to project sites. You'll support projects across transportation, water, power, and other related infrastructure sectors throughout the Wyoming/North Dakota region.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, levels, drones, and other surveying instruments in a fashion consistent with accepted rules and practices.
- Assist in construction layout and data collection.
- Assist in topographic, boundary and site survey tasks.
- Assist in boundary document research at courthouses.
- Maintain detailed and accurate field notes.
- Perform basic calculations from field note data, and read, interpret and use topographic maps and design drawings.
- Demonstrate understanding of basic survey or CAD computer applications.
- Download and process raw data from field instruments.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) License or Land Surveyor-In-Training (LSIT) License.
- Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience.
