This role focuses on the disassembly, inspection, repair, and rebuilding of hydraulic cylinders used in mining equipment. You will use a variety of hand, power, and pneumatic tools, interpret basic blueprints and schematics, and perform mechanical testing and troubleshooting to ensure all cylinders operate correctly. The position also involves accurate data entry of daily activities into the company database and the ability to safely lift and handle components weighing up to 70 pounds.

• Disassemble incoming hydraulic cylinders from mining equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Inspect all disassembled parts to identify wear, damage, and components that require repair or replacement.
• Rebuild cylinders using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools according to specifications and best practices.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints and schematics to guide assembly, repair, and testing activities.
• Perform mechanical testing and troubleshooting on finished cylinders to verify proper operation and identify any issues.
• Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic problems and implement effective repair solutions.
• Conduct hydraulic testing and troubleshooting to ensure systems meet performance and safety standards.
• Use hand tools and pneumatic tools correctly and safely during disassembly, repair, and assembly tasks.
• Enter accurate and timely data of all daily activities, including repairs, parts used, and test results, into the company database.
• Follow production schedules and meet performance expectations in a production-based environment.
• Handle and lift parts and assemblies weighing up to 70 pounds while adhering to safe lifting practices.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and care for personal mechanic tools brought to the job.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate issues or process improvements to support efficient workflow.
• Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of steel-toe footwear and other required protective equipment.

• At least 2 years of experience in mechanic work or mechanical assembly involving testing and troubleshooting.
• Minimum 3 months of experience with hydraulic testing and troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in repair, service, and assembly of mechanical components.
• Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with mechanical testing and troubleshooting of finished products.
• Skilled use of hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools in a workshop or production environment.
• Capability to perform data entry and accurately document daily activities in a company database.
• Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Must provide and use personal mechanic tools suitable for the role.

• Experience working with hydraulic cylinders or similar mechanical systems.
• Production-based or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with repair, service, and maintenance practices for industrial or mining equipment.
• Comfort working with pneumatics and understanding pneumatic components.
• Strong attention to detail when inspecting parts and performing final testing.
• Good communication skills to work effectively within a team and report issues clearly.
• Self-motivated and able to manage tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.

This position is based in a production-oriented environment with a consistent schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Optional overtime may be available after the regular shift, offering flexibility without mandatory extended hours. You will work with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using a range of hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools, as well as company database systems for data entry.

The environment emphasizes productivity, safety, and teamwork. The dress code is practical and shop-appropriate, typically jeans and a T-shirt, with steel-toe footwear required for safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gillette, WY.
