Job Description:
This 13-week travel contract places you on a high-energy medical-surgical floor in Gillette, Wyoming, where you’ll handle a wide variety of patient cases—from infants to end-of-life care. With 12-hour rotating shifts spanning days, nights, and weekends, your role involves utilizing advanced equipment like Pyxis medication systems, Meditech, bladder scanners, IV & PCA pumps, and wound vacs. You’ll need at least 6 months of recent Med Surg experience and current BLS certification.
As a nurse in this rural setting, expect to care for diverse patients with a flexible scope—sometimes including chemotherapy patients—without the need to float to other departments. The hospital emphasizes teamwork, with a nurse-to-patient ratio usually around 4-5:1, and provides 8 hours of orientation plus 30 hours of precept training to support your success. The weekly gross earning potential is approximately $1,992, based on a 36-hour commitment.
