Field Service Diesel Technician

Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on engines and related components at the customer site with minimal direction.

We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in (Gillette, WY).

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools
External Qualifications and Competencies

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
  • Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
  • Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
  • Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
  • Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software
Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position

Will require MSHA certification, rotating day shifts after probation period

DOT- A current valid license is required for this role. This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations. This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). 3 years driving experience. This role is subject to Department of Transportation  regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use. Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age.

Education, Licenses,

Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred). Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution. Locally valid driving permit. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Minimal level of workshop related experience required. Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products. Locally valid driving permit.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
