Drops Technician

Visionary Communications is seeking a Drops Technician to install and service customer connections for fiber and fixed wireless internet across rural communities. In this field role, you'll perform drop installations, troubleshoot connectivity issues, align antennas, and ensure clean, reliable terminations from the network to the customer premises. You'll work hands-on outdoors and at customer locations, using tools and test equipment while following safety and quality standards.

Collaborating with network operations and customer service, you'll help keep homes and businesses connected with dependable broadband.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and maintain customer drops for fiber and fixed wireless services
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues at customer locations and in the field
• Perform site surveys and verify signal levels, grounding, and proper terminations
• Use hand and power tools, test equipment, and basic network tools safely
• Document work performed in ticketing and mapping systems with accurate records
• Coordinate with network operations and customer service on service orders
• Educate customers on equipment, basic troubleshooting, and service expectations
• Follow safety procedures, company standards, and local codes
• Drive company vehicle to job sites across assigned service areas
