Special Education Teacher – Moderate/Severe
Gilroy, CA
Hourly Rate: $55–$60 per hour
Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a school district in Gilroy, California to hire two Special Education Teachers with Moderate/Severe credentials for the upcoming school year. These are school‑based classroom roles supporting students with significant needs in a collaborative, structured learning environment.
Open Positions- K–2 Moderate/Severe Classroom Teacher
The Special Education Teachers will provide specialized instruction and individualized supports in self‑contained Moderate/Severe classrooms. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about helping students build academic, social, and functional skills while working closely with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities- Provide instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals in a Moderate/Severe setting
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Implement behavior support strategies and positive behavior interventions
- Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
- Support students’ academic, social‑emotional, and functional skill development
- Experience in self‑contained or specialized classrooms preferred
- Strong classroom management and behavior support skills
- Commitment to inclusive, student‑centered education
