Job DescriptionThis is a temporary position for the school year.
JOB TITLE:
TEACHER – ELEMENTARY
JOB PURPOSE:
Facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress, addressing specific educational needs, providing a safe and optimal learning environment, and giving feedback to students, parents, and administration.
- Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress to support teacher expectations and reinforce classroom goals at home.
- Assesses students to provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding progress, expectations, and goals.
- Assists other teachers in implementing curriculum.
- Collaborates with school personnel, parents, and community agencies to improve student outcomes and plan curriculum.
- Directs instructional assistants, volunteers, and student aides to provide effective instruction and address individual student needs.
- Instructs students to improve their academic success through a defined course of study.
- Monitors student activities (classroom, lunch, grounds, etc.) to maintain a safe learning environment.
- Prepares teaching materials and reports (grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) to implement lesson plans and document progress.
- Reports incidents (fights, suspected abuse, substance abuse, etc.) to maintain student safety and comply with Education Code, district, and school policies.
- Assists other personnel as required to support completion of their work activities.
- Participates in meetings (parent conferences, in-service training, site meetings, etc.) to provide or receive information and meet credential requirements.
- Experience:
Prior job-related experience. - Skills:
Motivate students, communicate with diverse individuals, direct support personnel, evaluate performance. - Knowledge:
Age-appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education code, appropriate instructional subjects. - Abilities:
Stand and walk for prolonged periods; perform specialized tasks; maintain records; establish cooperative relationships with students, parents, and staff; meet schedules and deadlines; lift/carry; reach/handle; listen and see within reasonable visual limits.

Full‑Time - Salary: $69,898 to $123,207 per year
