Apartment Maintenance Technician
Location:
Gilroy, CA Pay: $25-$27/hr
Schedule:
Full-Time | Monday–Friday Position Type:
Temp-to-Hire Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Apartment Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day maintenance needs of a residential apartment community. This position is responsible for completing work orders, preparing vacant units for new residents, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring the property remains safe, clean, and well maintained. The ideal candidate has previous apartment, multifamily, property maintenance, or facilities maintenance experience and is comfortable handling a variety of repairs.
Responsibilities
- Complete resident maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner
- Perform general repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and carpentry
- Troubleshoot and repair common issues such as leaks, clogged drains, fixtures, outlets, and appliances
- Complete apartment turns/make-readies between residents
- Perform minor drywall repair, painting, patching, and general carpentry
- Conduct preventative maintenance and routine property inspections
- Assist with maintaining common areas, building exteriors, and grounds
- Identify maintenance or safety concerns and communicate them to property management
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies
- Follow all property safety procedures and company guidelines
- Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with residents
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Apartment Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Technician, Handyman, Building Maintenance Technician, or Facilities Technician preferred
- Experience with general plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, and painting
- Apartment turns/make-ready experience is highly preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple work orders
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to perform physical maintenance duties, including lifting, bending, standing, and using hand and power tools
