Job Summary:
The Inventory Control Coordinator compiles and maintains records of the quantity, type, and value of materials, merchandise, equipment, and supplies. This position performs physical inventory counts, verifies inventory records against actual counts, investigates discrepancies, and makes appropriate inventory adjustments. The role is also responsible for checking in delivery drivers, inspecting returning trailers, verifying returned and damaged goods, and re-entering products into inventory.
The coordinator will monitor product quality, maintain daily inventory records, identify spoiled or poor-quality produce, and support efforts to reduce spoilage and inventory loss.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate daily inventory records for produce and other products. Count and verify materials, merchandise, equipment, and supplies. Compare physical inventory counts against system or property records. Investigate and report inventory discrepancies. Check in delivery drivers and inspect all returning trailers. Verify returned goods and damaged products and re-enter eligible goods into inventory. Check the quality of designated products and remove poor-quality products before they reach customers.
Sort pallets and separate damaged or spoiled products. Repack produce efficiently to minimize spoilage and inventory loss. Perform assigned duties efficiently to reduce spoilage and contribute positively to profit margins. Perform keyboarding and filing activities. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, standing, crawling, and climbing. Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying items weighing more than 20 lbs. may be required. Ability to work in dry, cooler, and freezer warehouse environments. Steel-toe shoes/boots are required.
