Carinity Education Gladstone is seeking passionate and dedicated Youth Workers – Student Wellbeing to join our supportive team.
In this rewarding role, you will work closely with students, teachers, families, and support services to promote student wellbeing, engagement, and success. Through mentoring behavioural support, and positive relationship-building, you’ll help young people overcome barriers to learning and feel safe, connected, and empowered to reach their goals.
There is currently a permanent part-time position (60.8 hours per fortnight) and casual opportunities available.
Your Day-to-day Will Involve- Build positive and supportive relationships with students, serving as a trusted mentor and role model
- Provide wellbeing and behavioural support within a trauma-informed and therapeutic framework
- Work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, families, and external agencies to support individual student needs and remove barriers to learning
- Facilitate student wellbeing activities, lunchtime programs, excursions, and community engagement opportunities
- Encourage positive participation, resilience, and personal growth
- Maintain accurate case notes, records, and reporting requirements
- Drive the school bus for student activities and transport (LR licence required or willingness to obtain)

You bring empathy, positivity, and a strengths-based approach to your work, building meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds, making them feel safe, respected, and supported.
In addition,
- Certificate IV in Youth Work, Teacher Aide studies, Education Support, or a related qualification
- Experience supporting vulnerable, disengaged, or marginalised young people
- An understanding of trauma-informed practice and supporting pain-based behaviours
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and families
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Current driver’s licence (LR licence or willingness to obtain)
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
