Description:

Synergy Services Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) provides forensic interviews and family advocacy services to victims of abuse or neglect in Clay, Platte, and Ray Counties.

This position will provide initial screening, coordination, and case assignment for all incoming referrals for CAC as well as limited referrals for Family Care therapy that occurs on the CAC campus; may complete data entry for expenses, reporting, and measuring outcomes; and monitor clients and families receiving services onsite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Direct Client Services:
  • Receive and screen referrals for CAC victim services from multidisciplinary team (MDT) members to determine if case is appropriate for forensic interview or other direct services with the agency.
  • Schedule forensic services as deemed appropriate by making contact and coordinating with all involved parties (i.e. victims' families/caregivers, MDT members, Synergy staff)
  • Prepare initial referral information for scheduled services and ensure CAC staff are available and have all pertinent information prior to scheduled services.
  • Monitor and supervise families receiving services onsite at the CAC campus.
  • Administer caregiver and youth surveys to help ensure quality of services.
  • Ensure families are informed of basic service explanations and have all pertinent information prior to initial services and answer their preliminary questions.
  • May be responsible for the data collection, data entry and maintenance of the online client databases; as well as compiling direct service reports as required by VOCA, CSF, and other funders, also including periodic internal program chart audits.
  • Support CAC program with administrative duties including supply orders, Microix entries, and mail collection/distribution.
  • Ensure work space is neat and comfortable for clients and community.
  • Participate in defining program outcomes and maintaining all necessary data to comply with grant related outcome measurement information.
  • Supports client choice in care, engagement and help-seeking skills.
Community Relations and Communications
  • Represents and promotes the interests and the image of the program and organization to governmental entities, at all levels, to the local community, to accrediting bodies and to the public at large as needed.
  • Maintain connection and relationship with partner agencies, community stakeholders, and other MDT agency partners to support collaboration and effective implementation of trauma sensitive and trauma aware practices.
Supervision and Training
  • Will be knowledgeable of the child abuse investigation process and court system process.
  • Will be knowledgeable of NCA Standards and research supporting the CAC work and advocacy.
  • Participates in supervision with the Program Manager and/or Vice President to discuss successes, barriers or challenges as well as creative solutions and ideas.
  • Participates in professional development and training.
