Job Description

Supervisor: Summer Program Site Coordinator

Hours: 3.5 per day, 8 days

Job Goal: Responsibility for organizing and supervising students, delivering curriculum designed and directed by teachers, and providing academic support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Sound oral and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Sound reading and speaking skills in English.
  • Emotional and physical stamina.
  • Ability to exercise tact, patience, and courtesy when working with students, staff, parents, and community.
  • Strong interpersonal/human relations skills.
  • Knowledge of computers and educational applications.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities desirable.
  • Experience in a school setting desirable.
  • Other qualifications as may be established by the District.
Essential Functions
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Supervise students in various settings.
  • Provide curricula to students in small group or individual settings.
  • Assist students in behavior management as directed.
  • Assist students with basic life functions (e.g., feeding, toileting, hygiene, and medical protocols).
  • Follow confidentiality guidelines of the District.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of the District.
  • Conform to building regulations and employment rules.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Sound knowledge of basic academic skills (reading, writing, math).
  • May be required to have high school level proficiency in content areas.
  • Capable of working with students of varied ages.
  • Able to communicate with parents by phone, email, and in person.
  • Working interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to help students with basic life functions.
  • Knowledge and/or ability to learn lift and restraint protocols.
