General Description This position is responsible for all aspects of facility upkeep, maintenance, improvement, emergency response, safety and security of buildings, grounds and all related equipment at all facilities within the Gladstone School District. Supervise and direct the day–to-day operations of the facilities, grounds, custodial, courier, and transportation services.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Five years of continuous experience in the supervision and/or direction of facilities, maintenance, grounds, and transportation preferred.
  • Five years of continuous experience in personnel management, budgeting, purchasing, and project/program coordination preferred.
  • Proficient in use of technology, including specific programs and applications unique to facilities management such as SERP, work orders, and building electrical and HVAC systems, is preferred.
  • HVAC and LEM (Limited Electrical Maintenance) certifications are preferred.
  • Technical expertise and experience in the following areas: construction, mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC systems and controls, energy management, safety, general building maintenance, custodial products and their use, and other related technical areas preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal laws and codes related to plant management, including ADA preferred.
  • Mental and physical skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with students, staff, and the general public.
  • Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.
  • Valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license.
Essential Functions Administrative
  • Prepares annual budget estimates for buildings, grounds, maintenance, and transportation.
  • Provides coordination among contracting parties involved during capital construction.
  • Recommends and supervises approved systems operations and procedures for the protection and preservation of the school district's property and equipment.
  • Establishes, maintains, and oversees the management of preventive service and problem solution for operations and maintenance.
  • Provides leadership in planning activities related to the professional development of district staff in the areas of operations, maintenance and safety awareness.
  • Recommends comprehensive planning and scheduling of maintenance and repair requirements within budget.
  • Meets regularly with building administrators and others to determine district facility requirements for planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Advises administrators, teachers, and educational assistants on strategies and products related to operations, maintenance, and transportation.
