Requirements
- Hold a Kentucky Standard Certification for School Psychologist.
- Experience and other qualifications as specified by the Superintendent and/or Board of Education.
To provide psychological and psycho educational services to students, parents, the school and school staff.
Reports to
Superintendent/Director of Special Education
Performance Responsibilities
- Accurately administers, scores, and interprets individual assessments and provides, within specified timelines, reports of obtained results in a manner consistent with professional standards and state/district policy.
- Acts as a psycho-educational consultant to teachers and other school staff in developing preventive and early intervention strategies for children.
- Contributes to the development, implementation and evaluation of instructional programs and intervention procedures at the individual, group, and system levels.
- Leads parent education or training groups.
- Serves as a resource to school principals and other administrative staff on issues of school-level or system-level concern.
- Organizes and conducts staff development activities for school personnel.
- Work with others to accomplish educational goals and objectives, provide information to assist in the development and implementation of educational programs, and utilize available resources to facilitate the delivery of services to students.
- Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, developing interventions and referring children with suspected disabilities.
- Assists the Admissions and Release Committee in interpreting educational assessment results, developing Individualized Education Plans and determining appropriate services as needed.
- Communicates with students, families, caregivers and other service providers relative to the student's disability and its management.
- Maintains complete and accurate records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.
- Provides crisis intervention services to school/district as requested.
- Remains current on advances and other matters concerning school psychology and provides training to other professionals and paraprofessionals as needed.
- Provides for his or her own professional growth in accordance with state and federal regulation.
- Maintains regular, punctual attendance during regularly scheduled work hours.
- Meets the Standards and Indicators set forth in the Certified Personnel Evaluation Plan.
- Abides by the Professional Code of Ethics for Kentucky Certified School Personnel.
- Adheres to the requirements of the District and school employee handbook, Glasgow Board of Education Policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Performs any other functions deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor that are reasonable and covered by local board policy or law.
