Qualifications/RequirementsMust have no convictions of a felony or past criminal history and be in good health, as evidenced by completing a physical examination as prescribed by the Board. Must be of good character and moral behavior, must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.

BBB - The assistant coordinator will assist the director in implementing and ensuring compliance with the Kentucky Child Care Regulations. The associate coordinator will support the director’s key responsibilities, including providing the health, safety, and comfort of all children, developing and implementing program policies, and protecting each child from abuse and neglect.
BBB - The assistant coordinator will assist:
- Supervising all daily and weekly tasks, including reviewing staff and children’s schedules, observing classroom management, and overseeing curriculum implementation.
- Provide support for daily and weekly activities, including recruitment efforts and managing program calendars.
- Greet parents and visitors, answer questions, arrange meetings, lead tours, and perform other daily customer service tasks.
- Ensure all required paperwork for children, staff, and licensing is obtained and organized in a timely manner in accordance with state licensing regulations (including required emergency plans and drills.)

- Increase parent involvement
- Coordinate summer enrichment and remediation activities
- Initiate new community partnerships.
- Oversee the after-school program.
- Organize the program's nutritional component in accordance with BCBOE nutrition service regulations and policies.
- Initiate transitional activities across the center’s components for elementary and middle- to high-school students.
- Ensure that each Learning Center’s instructional scope focuses on ALL students reaching Proficiency.
- Provide recreational and academic enrichment activities for students and parents.
- Help maintain accurate financial records.
- Investigate and respond to incoming communications.
- Facilitate home-school communication.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records and reports regarding attendance, discipline, and assessment results to determine the effect on participants.
- Ensure that the grant's components and requirements are implemented to maintain compliance and continued funding.
- Complete any other tasks as assigned by the Site Coordinator.
- Will be required to complete all required training and attend in-service sessions.
- Performs assigned tasks on time.
- Consistently displays self-control with parents, students, and school personnel.
- Maintains a clean workstation (bus, desk, office, etc.) and does maintenance as needed.
- Be clean, neat, and appropriately dressed.
- Be consistently responsible and demonstrate honesty and credibility.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, interest, and concern for the overall program and its effective operation.
- Maintains student control.
- Safely operate equipment at all times.
- Demonstrate positive behavior toward the purposes and goals of the Barren County Public Schools.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Pay commensurate with the position of After school Site Asst—coordinator, with a contracted time of 4 or 7.5 hours for up to 200 days in the contracted year, or a part-time per-hour rate.
Helping members grow, learn, and gain new skills can be rewarding. The work is sometimes routine, but new activities and challenges mark each day. Youth development can be physically and emotionally taxing, as workers constantly stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift (25 pounds frequently) to attend to each member's interests and problems.
