Here’s what you’ll do:
- Have the opportunity to work on large projects and frameworks with renewable energy generation developers, mostly in UK and Ireland but also with some global projects.
- Undertake Front End Engineering Design (FEED), design for planning, feasibility studies etc. of energy storage systems including associated grid connections, control and metering.
- Work with Internal AECOM clients delivering large renewable generation or private wire projects.
- Provide some support and gain exposure to bidding, project and quality management.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Previous experience with consultancy, contractor, equipment manufacturer or electrical utility in the energy sector. Suitable experience as FEED designer, detailed design or owner’s engineer role.
- A good understanding of both renewable generation and energy storage technology in general and, in particular, battery storage technology of all types and chemistries.
- Experience designing the HV grid connection, metering, control requirements etc. associated with battery storage installations, including BESS collocated with renewable energy generation.
- Knowledge of grid connection requirements for renewable generation and energy storage, including G59, G99 etc.
- Good understanding of electrical plant items and control systems such as transformers, cables, circuit breakers, HV Protection & Control.
- Good team player with a client‑focused mindset and customer‑facing skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects.
Here’s what we’re ideally looking for:
- Project management experience (incl. budget, time and quality).
- Electrical Engineering Degree.
- Experience of multi‑discipline engineering projects.
- Experience of design & site construction review.
- The role is focused on energy storage, but knowledge of grid connection considerations will be advantageous.
