Are you an Electrical Engineer, with a background in heavy industry, looking to relocate to the picturesque Scottish Highlands, in a role that offers an excellent benefits package on top of a lucrative salary?
Would you like the opportunity to work with a specialist manufacturer that is one of Britain’s longest standing smelters, situated at the foot of Ben Nevis? With a heritage spanning almost a century, the company produces high-quality, low‑carbon aluminium using renewable hydroelectric power generated locally.
The key part of this role will be providing technical expertise for electrical systems across the smelter. You will work with transformers, switch gear, protection relays, motors, VSDs, substations and industrial power systems. Alongside this you will be providing support for electrical safety, reliability and asset improvement initiatives, while leading electrically biased projects from concept through to commissioning.
This role would suit an experienced Electrical Engineer, with a background in an industrial manufacturing environment, who has a love for the outdoors.
The Role- Providing technical expertise for site electrical systems and infrastructure
- Lead electrical reliability, maintenance and asset improvement projects
- Working on transformers, switch gear, protection relays, motors, VSDs, substations and industrial power systems
- Manage electrical capital projects from design through to commissioning
- Support plant breakdowns, shutdowns and operational improvement activities
- Mentor engineers, technicians and contractors
- Monday to Thursday, 7:30 – 5, Friday, 7:30 – 12:30
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Background in an industrial environment
- Experience delivering electrical projects and supporting maintenance activities
