Senior/Principal Wastewater Modeller (Urban Drainage) – Glasgow
We are recruiting for a Senior/Principal Wastewater Modeller to join our Water department in Glasgow. The position offers flexible working with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option for adjusted start and finish times.
What the role involvesWorking within the Urban Drainage Modelling Team, you will lead delivery of modelling work, manage cost and programme, and mentor junior modellers. You will work on projects of all shapes and sizes, delivering technical excellence.
Core duties and responsibilities- Work within agreed deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance and control strategy.
- Lead project delivery tasks, including engagement with clients’ technical teams.
- Provide technical guidance, support and training to less experienced colleagues.
- Develop modelling processes and create innovative modelling tools.
- Work on a range of different types of modelling projects for public and private sector clients.
- Experience in building and verifying integrated catchment models using Infoworks ICM.
- Experience in water quality modelling and/or undertaking UPM studies is advantageous.
- Experience of GIS (e.g., ArcGIS or Mapinfo) and Infoworks ICM hydraulic modelling software is essential.
- Track record in mentoring team members.
- Experience of managing projects and acting as technical discipline lead on urban drainage/sewage modelling projects is advantageous.
- Experience managing modelling teams from a commercial/financial perspective is beneficial.
- Understanding of the market and interest in business development to expand and diversify client base is welcomed.
- For the Principal role: must be chartered with an appropriate institute (e.g., ICE or CIWEM) or close to achieving chartered status.
