DescriptionThe Mechanical Engineer designs, develops, and improves mechanical systems and products to support manufacturing and product performance. The role applies engineering principles to create efficient, reliable, and manufacturable solutions. The position supports product development, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll DoMechanical Design & Product Development
- Maintain ownership of material flow ensuring timely delivery to production and warehouse locations.
- Move raw materials, components, and finished goods using appropriate handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, storage areas, and production lines.
- Stage materials for production orders based on scheduling and operational requirements.
- Ensure proper labeling, identification, and storage of all materials and inventory items.
Engineering Analysis & Process Support
- Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analysis to support design decisions.
- Identify root causes of product or equipment issues and develop corrective solutions.
- Support manufacturing teams with technical guidance and process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design and production challenges.
- Ensure designs meet applicable standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with operations, quality, and supply chain teams to improve product performance.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through design optimization and material selection.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation, revision control, and engineering change records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and innovation.
Additional Expectations
- Comply with all company policies, including the Code of Conduct and Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
- Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal product compliance requirements.
- Support all activities required to meet Compliance Management System goals.
- Raise any compliance-related concerns to a supervisor, manager, Leadership Team member, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with product development, testing, and validation processes.
- Knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in engineering and manufacturing environments.
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
- Pay range: $90,000 to $125,000 USD per year. This role is eligible for a discretionary bonus.
