Basic Function

The Precision Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of friction manufacturing equipment. A precision technician includes the following areas: IAG Press, high variety finish lines, robotic bagger, robotic press, ADB Compound, ADB Finish Line unloader and other assigned duties.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe work environment and always follow all safety rules, using all PPE as required daily; maintain proactive attention to safety, including keeping work area clean and healthy. Always inspect all equipment prior to use and report any discrepancies immediately.
  • Inspect product for quality; if unacceptable, investigate cause, take corrective action, and notify leadership. Accurately record all scrap data.
  • Demonstrate proper machine operation per standard work requirements. Follow all work instructions, both written and verbal, along with directions from team leaders/supervisors/managers to produce quality product. Accurately enter all computer data required for job tickets, production logs, etc.
  • Maintain and utilize the set 5S Standards.
  • Maintain machine standard condition.
  • Demonstrate how to perform preventative maintenance for all areas of equipment and complete PM's and autonomous maintenance as required.
  • Produce quantity of work daily as required. Adjust pace as required to meet deadlines and schedules.
  • Perform according to the company's values.
  • Perform any other jobs as assigned.
Required Experience
  • High school diploma or GED certification required.
  • 1-2 years manufacturing experience required, 5+ years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of basic skills test.
  • Successful completion of drug screens, background screens, and physical demands testing for the assigned position.
  • Solid reading, writing and mathematics skills including decimals & fractions.
  • Ability to follow written & oral instructions.
  • Ability to work with a high level of precision.
  • Ability to read and interpret precise measuring instruments.
  • Works well with others on the team.
  • Computer skills.
Other Requirements
  • Physical lifting of up to 50 lbs. repeatedly in scheduled work day (up to 1200X’s in an 8 hour shift).
  • Walking, standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting, carrying, overhead movement and lifting.
  • Ability to work in a heated environment.
  • The ability to climb stairs multiple times per day.
  • Must be able to work at heights.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment basic skills test.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screens, background screens, and physical demands testing for the assigned position.
  • Warning - Cashew (cashew resin) may be present in product.
