Material Handler Receives, unloads, stores, stages, packages, crates, and ships materials, conveyor components, and finished products in a safe, productive, timely, and efficient manner. Constructs shipping crates in the smallest cube possible while ensuring safe, damage-free shipment of all conveyors and conveyor components. Safely loads and unloads incoming and outgoing shipments and transports materials to designated storage and production locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Construct stable, secure, and properly sized domestic and international shipping crates that fully protect and contain conveyor components.

Verify all required components are available prior to crate construction.

Properly operate hand tools, powered hand tools, and woodworking equipment used in crate construction and packaging activities according to safety instructions.

Properly secure, band, label, and package products, field break packages, and chain components to prevent damage and ensure shipment identification is visible and accurate.

Inspect lumber and packaging materials to ensure quality standards are met and defective materials are not used.

Receive, unload, inspect, verify, and document incoming shipments; report shortages, discrepancies, or damaged materials.

Load, package, label, secure, and prepare outgoing shipments to ensure safe transportation and compliance with shipping requirements.

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment to move, stage, store, and transport materials throughout the facility.

Verify incoming and outgoing shipments meet company specifications and shipping requirements.

Maintain inventory awareness of lumber, packaging materials, shipping supplies, and assigned materials; notify management when replenishment is needed.

Measure, weigh, label, and document completed crates and shipments, including updating job status and shipping information in company systems.

Complete required reports, shipping documentation, equipment inspections, and other assigned records accurately and timely.

Perform daily inspections of forklifts and material handling equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe work, storage, receiving, and shipping areas.

Perform all crate construction and material handling activities safely while following company quality, continuous improvement, safety, and PPE requirements.

Demonstrate a positive, cooperative attitude; support teamwork, cross-training, and continuous learning.

Support Span Tech's Quality Systems, Continuous Improvement, and Safety programs..
