Maintains procedures and techniques for quality control standards at a single plant level to ensure quality levels are maintained for a complete brand or segment.
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading and advancing the Company's Quality Management System (QMS). This role ensures products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and company quality standards while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and defect prevention initiatives.
The Quality Assurance Manager serves as a strategic leader and technical expert, partnering with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and customers to enhance product quality, reliability, and overall business performance. This position oversees quality programs for manufacturing operations in Glasgow, DE and supports a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities Quality Management Systems & Compliance- Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with applicable customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and manage quality policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions.
- Serve as the management representative for ISO, NUPIC, customer, and other quality audits.
- Manage internal audit programs and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Coordinate and approve quality-related documentation associated with new products, engineering changes, and process updates.
- Develop and execute quality assurance strategies to ensure purchased materials, in-process production, and finished products meet established specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving processes, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities to eliminate recurring quality issues.
- Implement and monitor quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems to measure performance and drive decision-making.
- Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and other process‑improvement methodologies where appropriate.
- Oversee supplier quality performance and maintain the Approved Supplier List.
- Partner with suppliers to address quality concerns, establish corrective actions, and improve overall supplier performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues, complaints, returns, and corrective actions.
- Monitor customer returns, rejections, and warranty‑related issues to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Directly supervises Quality Assurance personnel, currently including two Quality Assurance Technicians.
- Responsible for employee development, performance management, training, and fostering a collaborative, high‑performing team environment.
- Conduct and coordinate training related to quality systems, inspection techniques, GD&T, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a company‑wide culture of quality awareness and ownership.
- Ensure effective inspection, testing, and process‑control systems are established and maintained.
- Oversee calibration programs to ensure testing and measurement equipment remains compliant and accurate.
- Ensure appropriate quality controls are in place throughout the manufacturing process to support product conformity and reliability.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to identify and resolve quality‑related issues.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance on quality matters during product development, process changes, and operational improvements.
- Support business objectives through proactive quality planning and risk management.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Lean Six Sigma, or similar certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Systems leadership.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and managing Quality Management Systems.
- Experience leading quality audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with FDA, GMP, ISO, or regulated manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
