This position is responsible for:
- Assisting store customers in donating, selecting, and purchasing store items; operating and maintaining a cash register; responding to customers’ questions; maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the store displays; ensuring the security of store items and the cash register.
- Receiving, sorting, and preparing donated items for display in the store; determining their suitability based on established standards; assisting in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
- Assisting customers purchasing items from The Salvation Army by ringing up sales utilizing a cash register; collecting monies, counting change, and preparing receipts; preparing and packaging purchased items; preparing and balancing the cash drawer and running routine register printouts; ensuring the security and accountability of all cash register funds and sales records by established operating procedures.
- Receiving, inspecting, and sorting donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items, bric-a-brack, etc., according to the category and condition.
- Maintaining the neatness and security of the cash register area; ensuring that forms, bags, etc., are adequately stocked.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-75 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

- High school diploma or G.E.D., and experience working in a warehouse, picking, packing, sorting, and cashiering experience is preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
