Main Responsibilities

As a Retail Security Officer, you will provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports and collaborate with local authorities.

  • Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity
  • Assess and identify vulnerabilities, working proactively to minimise risk
  • Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable
  • Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress
  • Complete colleague and contractor searches in line with customer company policy
  • Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for daily activity planning
  • Produce detailed and legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities

Location: Glasgow

Hours: 46 Hours per week

Shift Pattern: 46 hrs per week (Tue, Wed 10‑18; Thu 12‑18; Fri, Sat, Sun 10‑18; Monday off)

Hourly Rate: £12.85

The Person

Effective communication skills are essential, as you will provide detailed verbal and written accounts of activity. You should be welcoming, patient, and able to handle conflict professionally.

Required Experience and Qualification

You must hold a valid SIA licence. Prior experience in a Retail Security role is an advantage but not essential; full training will be provided.
