Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor‑trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers in accordance with state and federal laws.
Shift InformationSunday – Thursday, 10 pm – 6 am. Starting at $25 per hour.
Essential Functions- Complies with driver responsibilities as outlined in the company DAART program and as required by DOT.
- Maintains vehicle in accordance with Elkhart Transportation management policy.
- Operates vehicle safely and efficiently in compliance with company policy, procedures and applicable state and federal laws.
- Supports on‑time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficiently as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Inspects trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and verifies it is the correct load before leaving the facility.
- Verifies product count while the truck is being loaded.
- Obtains correct acknowledgement or signature and date for the bill of lading and necessary signatures and returns duly completed documentation to the Transportation Manager.
- Complies with performance measures.
- Duties may vary depending on location.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
CDL A License
Experience- Prior experience driving large vehicles, such as a box truck or similar.
- Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices.
- Previous experience delivering and handling freight (preferred).
- Strong written and oral communication.
- Organization and attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Time management.
- Systems analysis.
- Mathematical and deductive reasoning.
- Critical thinking.
- Active learning.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, ambient temperatures, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise. On the road, the employee may encounter traffic or other hazardous driving conditions.
