Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are looking for a caring and committed Children’s Worker to join our team, supporting children and young people with complex physical and psychological support needs. This role involves providing high-quality care and support in a residential setting and in the community, helping children and young people experience safe, meaningful and inclusive activities tailored to their individual needs and aspirations.

The role

As part of a supportive team, you will play an active role in delivering person-centred care and positive experiences for children and young people.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing day-to-day care and support for children and young people with complex needs
  • Delivering care in line with individual care plans and organisational standards
  • Supporting personal care, physical health needs and medication as required
  • Acting as Keyworker for identified children and contributing to care planning and reviews
  • Planning and delivering activities that promote development, inclusion and enjoyment
  • Implementing agreed behaviour support strategies
  • Supporting and working in partnership with families and carers
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and care plans
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues, families and other professionals
  • Promoting social inclusion and access to local services and leisure opportunities
  • Participating in supervision, reflection and ongoing professional development
  • Working flexibly across a rota to meet the needs of the service
About you

You will have a genuine interest in working with children and young people with disabilities, including those whose needs may at times present as challenging behaviour. Ideally, you will hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) and HNC level, or be willing to work towards these qualifications. You may have previous experience in a caring role or working with children, young people or adults, along with an understanding of physical or learning disabilities and child development.

You will be committed to high standards of care, able to work well as part of a team, and open to learning and development through supervision and training.

Why join us?

You will join an organisation that values compassion, dignity and respect, offering training, supervision and opportunities for professional development. This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and their families.

This post is subject to membership of the PVG Scheme and the necessary vetting checks.

If you are passionate about supporting children and young people to thrive and want to build a meaningful career in care, apply now and join our dedicated team.

Benefits

We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that supports others. Firstly, there is access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card. We also ensure that your future and that of your loved ones is secured with a generous contributory pension plan and death in service benefit.

Balancing work and family are made easier with our suite of enhanced family friendly policies and your health and wellness are prioritised with access to our health cash plan, giving you cash back for a wide range of health treatments. We even have access to a care concierge service to assist you with life's challenges, providing invaluable support when you need it most.

But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.
