As/when required, 10.25h shifts – times between 7:30am-6:15pm

Surehaven Glasgow is registered with Health Improvement Scotland as an Independent Low Secure Hospital, accommodating twenty‑one patients aged between 18 and 65 with a primary diagnosis of severe and enduring mental illness, all of whom are detained under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Scotland Act 2003 or Criminal Procedures (Scotland) Act 1995.

The hospital is a 21‑bedded unit (all ensuite) split into two gender specific wards. It is superbly designed to maximise communal and living space for the patients as well as providing activity rooms for the facilitation of therapeutic programmes.

• Preparing, cooking and serving meals for residents and others as required, in a timely manner.
• Providing a varied diet, catering for the cultural preferences of those who use our services.
• Catering for celebrations and other events in our Home.
• Working solo in the kitchen when required.
• Ordering supplies within the catering budget and company policy guidelines, using approved suppliers in the absence of the Senior Cook.
• Maintaining accurate catering records in accordance with HACCP.
• Participating in inspections by Environmental Health and/or care regulators and Local Authorities.
• Maintaining a high standard of hygiene within the kitchen by adhering to HACCP and COSHH guidelines.
• Assisting in the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by ensuring adherence to Health & Safety and Welfare.
• Ability to manage the Catering Team.
