Hours:

10hrs per week (Saturday & Sunday 12.30pm to 5.30pm) Salary: £12.25 per hour

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a well-established charity located within Bellahouston Park, Glasgow. The hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with a life-limiting, progressive illness, and support for their families and carers.

We are recruiting within our kitchen team due to our expanding of café and hospitality function. As a member of our catering team, you will support our highly skilled chefs in all aspects of food preparation, customer service, washing up and the many cleaning duties related to the provision of a high-quality catering service we provide to patients, staff, volunteers and visitors.

  • To assist with dish & pot washing, cleaning kitchen to the highest standards, cleaning of all areas / equipment and stock control under the direction of the chefs.
  • To provide a high standard of customer service to all people using the catering services.
  • To assist with hospitality and food preparation for Hospice functions.
  • To manage dish & pot washing, cleaning of all areas / equipment and stock control under the direction of the Chefs.
  • To maintain high standards of personal hygiene and general food hygiene as well as high standards of cleanliness in all work areas.
  • To assist in the maintenance of effective systems, and stock control.
  • To be responsible for cleaning to agreed hygiene standards, meeting daily cleaning frequencies and descriptions of tasks including the completion of all relevant documentation.
  • To comply with Hospice Policies/Procedures including Food Hygiene Regulations.
  • To ensure hazards/faults are immediately reported, equipment isolated and highlighted as being out of order where appropriate in line with Health and Safety policy.
