Project Site Manager - Research and Innovation

New opportunity for career development Glasgow Clinical Research Facility Project Site Manager Band 6 36 hrs/week (24 months fixed term) Secondment or Job-share opportunity We are seeking an organised and motivated Project Site Manager to play a key role in delivering high quality clinical research across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing and increasingly complex portfolio of clinical research, supporting ground breaking new treatments and improving patient outcomes.

Glasgow Clinical Research Facility (GCRF) provides specialist support for the safe and efficient delivery of clinical research across NHSGGC. Our facilities are based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow Royal Infirmary and the Children’s Clinical Research Facility.

Working in partnership with investigators, sponsors and multidisciplinary teams, GCRF supports the successful set-up and delivery of a diverse and growing research portfolio. As Project Site Manager, you will lead and coordinate the set-up and operational delivery of clinical research studies across the service. You will work closely with sponsors, investigators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure studies progress efficiently from approval through to delivery, maintaining high standards of quality and performance.

This role is central to enabling the successful delivery of commercial research activity at scale across NHSGGC.

This is a full-time post of 36 hours per week.

Fixed-term for 2 years.

The role is based at GCRF, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Govan Road, Glasgow, G51 4TF
.

The shift pattern is Monday Friday, 08:00 16:00 with flexibility to meet service needs.

• Coordination of study set-up activity across multiple sites
• Managing approvals and amendments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date study documentation and records
• Oversee site readiness, ensuring all study requirements are in place
• Coordinate participant scheduling to support efficient study delivery
• Ensuring effective use of research databases and digital systems
• Build strong working relationships with sponsors, investigators, and multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to high-quality, responsive commercial research delivery across the service

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and will have significant relevant experience in clinical research, together with a sound understanding of research governance, regulatory requirements and study set-up processes. You will be able to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with a wide range of professional groups.

You should have excellent organisational and IT skills, experience of working with databases and digital systems, and the ability to maintain oversight of complex study activity while responding to service demands erience of working within multidisciplinary teams and supporting delivery against deadlines and performance targets is essential.

• First level degree with significant, current and relevant clinical research experience.
• Knowledge of current research regulatory frameworks, approval processes and governance requirements.
• Ability to deliver against targets and within agreed timelines.
• Ability to respond to competing demands and unplanned requests for information.
• Experience of working autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload across studies in NHS GGC.
• Ability to deliver presentations to multi-disciplinary groups.
• Extensive IT skills, able to use Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, web-based applications and databases
