Salary: £40,016 per annum + shift allowance + overtime
Location: Glasgow
We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Pipefitter. The role will be based in Glasgow and will require the successful candidate to be on site full time working a varied shift pattern.
There are 3 shifts available (starting with a day shift). Shift details:
- Day Shift: Monday-Thursday 7.00am-4.30pm
- Night Shift: Monday-Thursday 8.30pm-6.00am (33% shift allowance)
- Weekend Shift: (also 33% shift allowance)
Overtime is also available - rates of pay:
- Monday-Thursday: 1.33
- Friday: 1.5 (first 4 hours) and 2.00
- Saturday: 1.5
- Sunday: 2.00
Main Responsibilities:
- Fabricating and installing pipework systems in large and small-bore pipework using different materials (copper, CuNi, carbon steel, stainless steel)
- Using a range of hand tools & mechanical equipment to cut, bend and weld pipes, including installation of pipework
- Installing utilities aboard ship (sinks, showers, toilets)
- Install and assemble fittings, valves, and related components according to drawings and specifications
- Collaborate with other trades to ensure the timely and accurate completion of projects
- Adhere to safety regulations and company procedures
- Maintain accurate records of work carried out

About You:
- Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers (mandatory) and relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Current knowledge and experience of pipe manufacture, installation, and use of associated equipment
- Strong knowledge of pipe fitting techniques, tools, and safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH and Risk Assessments
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter or similar within an industrial or commercial environment
- Experience in industrial or commercial settings preferred
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- Experience in TIG pipe welding
You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years.
All successful candidates will need to attend a trade test in Glasgow and submit trade certificates after an initial phone call with the recruiter.
