Vehicle Technician - Glasgow

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £43,160 per annum (basic £36,720 + £2,900 OTE bonus + overtime)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (4-day week/rota basis, 7am-5:30pm)

Overtime: Available on days off, paid at time and a half

The Company

Our client is the UK's leading vehicle rental specialist — with branches across the UK, Ireland and Spain, maintaining and repairing their own extensive fleet of over 68,000 vehicles.

Their flagship Glasgow branch is a state-of-the-art facility located right next to the M8 and one of Scotland's largest shopping centres. This modern workshop is their biggest yet, boasting nine ramps for maximum efficiency and also housing Auxillis, making it a fully integrated branch for hire and accident management services.

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles, ensuring they are safe, reliable and fully compliant for customer hire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out vehicle servicing, repairs, and maintenance to manufacturer standards
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and on time
  • Maintain a clean, safe and efficient working environment
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to meet branch goals
About You
  • Level 3 Qualified Technician/Mechanic (or Level 2 with at least 3 years' experience)
  • Confident working with a variety of vehicle types and systems
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented and reliable
  • Full UK driving licence required
Training and Development

The company operates its own IMI-accredited training department, offering upskilling in areas such as Hybrid & EV systems, tail lifts, braking systems and electrical diagnostics. Level 2 Technicians can complete a personalised training plan to support progression to Level 3.
