About the role
An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Appointed Person (AP) in Glasgow to join our operational teams, supporting the delivery of temporary site services packages across Balfour Beatty projects nationwide.
This is a key role where you’ll support safe, compliant, and high-quality electrical installations, while working closely with site teams to drive performance, safety, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing- Supporting the delivery of temporary electrical installations across multiple projects
- Undertaking Appointed Person (AP) duties in line with Balfour Beatty Electrical Safe Systems of Work (ESSW)
- Promoting a strong Zero Harm culture and ensuring safe systems of work are clearly communicated and followed
- Reviewing work package plans, RAMS, and task briefings to ensure safe and compliant delivery
- Identifying risks and proactively implementing control measures
- Supporting the Electrical Supervisor in maintaining installation quality and workmanship standards
- Monitoring plant, tools, and materials to ensure suitability and minimise waste
- Assisting with QA processes, including BIM Field 360, and maintaining accurate records
- Identifying and reporting any scope changes or non-conformances
- Contributing to continuous improvement and "Right First Time" delivery across projects
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work and current H&S legislation, including BS7671
- Experience in temporary electrical installations within a construction environment
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and communicate effectively with teams and subcontractors
- Proactive, safety-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Full UK driving licence, ECS card and SMSTS
- Flexibility to travel nationwide and work occasional nights and weekends
