This is a full‑time EV Installer role based on‑site in Glasgow. The EV Installer will be responsible for installing home and commercial electric vehicle charging points, including associated cabling and electrical components, in line with industry regulations and company standards. Day‑to‑day tasks include conducting site surveys, assessing electrical systems, planning installation routes, and performing testing and commissioning of installed chargers and related solar PV connections where required.
The role involves diagnosing and resolving installation issues, completing relevant documentation and compliance certificates, and maintaining clear communication with customers to explain work carried out. The EV Installer will work closely with the wider electrical team to ensure safe practices, high‑quality workmanship, and timely completion of projects.
- Strong practical skills in electrical installation, including experience with domestic and commercial wiring, EV charge point installation, and basic solar PV connections.
- Sound knowledge of electrical regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements relevant to EV charging and renewable energy systems.
- Effective problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose electrical faults, identify safe solutions, and complete installations to a high standard.
- Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly and work respectfully in customers’ homes and premises.
- Ability to work independently on‑site, manage time efficiently, and collaborate smoothly with other electricians and team members.
- Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent), with current certification or registration where applicable; experience with EV chargers or solar PV is an advantage.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the Glasgow and Central Scotland area as required.
- Commitment to health and safety, continuous learning, and keeping skills up to date with emerging EV and renewable technologies.
