Salary Competitive Salary + Company Vehicle + Benefits The Opportunity An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Ventilation Specialist to join a growing building services and energy solutions contractor delivering projects across Scotland and the North East of England.
The business specialises in the installation, refurbishment, maintenance, and optimisation of commercial HVAC and ventilation systems, helping clients improve operational efficiency, compliance, and sustainability. Working closely with Supervisors and Project Managers, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of ventilation projects, ensuring all work is completed in line with current regulations, quality standards, and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, service, and troubleshoot commercial ventilation systems.
Carry out refurbishment, replacement, and upgrade works on air handling units (AHUs), fans, and associated HVAC equipment.
Install and modify ductwork systems and ventilation components.
Diagnose faults and implement effective remedial solutions.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with CDM 2015, Building Regulations, and company procedures.
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, equipment schedules, and BIM/Revit-generated information.
Complete project documentation, quality records, and site reports as required.
Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.
Support commissioning activities and project handovers.
Travel to project sites throughout Scotland and the North East as required.
Candidate Requirements Minimum 6 years' experience working with commercial ventilation systems.
Minimum 8 years' experience within the construction or building services sector.
Strong technical knowledge of:
HVAC systems
Mechanical ventilation
Ductwork installations
Air Handling Units (AHUs)
Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
Associated mechanical plant
Proven experience delivering ventilation projects on UK construction sites.
Good understanding of health & safety legislation, CDM Regulations, and permit-to-work systems.
Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications.
Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capabilities.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider project team.
Full UK driving licence.
Right to work in the UK.Qualifications & Certifications Relevant HVAC, Ventilation, or Mechanical Engineering qualifications.
Valid CSCS Card.
Health & Safety Certification.
Additional industry certifications and training are advantageous.
