Role Description The Heating and Air Conditioning Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Glasgow. The engineer will design, install, and commission HVAC systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site surveys, preparing technical drawings and specifications, overseeing installation work, and performing diagnostics on existing systems. The role involves troubleshooting faults, carrying out routine and reactive maintenance, and optimizing system efficiency.

The engineer will collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients, provide clear technical guidance, and complete documentation such as reports, maintenance logs, and compliance records.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in HVAC Engineering and HVAC Design, with experience in system sizing, layout, and equipment selection.
  • Candidates should possess practical HVAC skills, including installation, commissioning, and performance optimization of heating and cooling systems.
  • Candidates should possess Maintenance & Repair skills, including fault diagnosis, routine servicing, and corrective repair of HVAC equipment.
  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, building services, or HVAC (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to work safely on-site in varying conditions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, contractors, and clients.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites within the Glasgow area and surrounding regions, as required.
