Automotive Technician, Automotive Mechanic
VANRATH are pleased to be partnering with a prominent, multi-site automotive retail and aftersales group with an extensive UK footprint. As part of continued expansion within their field-based service operation, we are recruiting for a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic to join their growing team. This is covering the North Coast Area (Ballymena, Coleraine and surrounding areas)

The RoleReporting to the Mobile Service Manager, the successful candidate will operate as a fully qualified field-based technician, delivering maintenance, inspection and repair services directly to customers at their home or workplace.
You will act as a brand ambassador while ensuring vehicles are maintained safely, efficiently and in line with approved manufacturer and legislative standards.
Key duties will include:- Carrying out scheduled servicing, mechanical repairs and fault-finding across a range of passenger vehicles
- Conducting vehicle health checks and providing clear, accurate diagnostic feedback
- Working strictly in accordance with manufacturer guidance, company procedures and current legislation
- Completing all job cards, service documentation and digital records accurately and within required time frames
- Delivering a professional, customer-focused experience during every interaction
- Managing your own workload effectively while maintaining high productivity standards
- Supporting team knowledge-sharing and assisting less experienced colleagues where appropriate
- Maintaining safe working practices and ensuring all tools and equipment are used correctly
- Full qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Current ATA accreditation (or working towards)
- Proven experience within a dealership or high-volume automotive service environment
- Strong diagnostic capability and sound mechanical knowledge
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Confidence in customer-facing situations with a professional manner
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior technicians (desirable)
- A full UK driving licence held for at least 6 months with fewer than 9 penalty points
- Proof of Right to Work in the UK
