PSV​/HGV Nightshift Mechanic

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic - Night shift to join the busy team at our First Bus Glasgow Caledonia Depot – PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear from ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other automotive sectors looking for a change.

• £24.07 per hour
• Minimum 37 hours per week
• £ 46,310 per annum
• 4 nights per week (1 weekend in
  3)
• 8pm-6am
• £2,000 joining bonus!

Further pay increase scheduled for April 2027.

In this hands‑on role, you'll keep vehicles running safely and reliably by diagnosing faults, completing mechanical repairs and replacing parts when needed. You'll carry out scheduled servicing, routine inspections and preventative maintenance, as well as responding to on‑road breakdowns and recoveries. You'll also road test vehicles where required and make sure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with regulations and health and safety standards.

• Do you have a Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds equivalent in vehicle maintenance & repair?
• Do you have experience working on HGV or PSV?
• Do you have a valid UK driving licence?
• Do you also have a strong attention to detail and a passion for mechanics?
